All Creatures Great and Small

Ant information

When you have ants in the house, you can use safe boric acid baits if you want, such as Terro Bait. What I did when I had a bunch of acrobat ants on the kitchen counter was put some Karo syrup on a piece of paper and all the ants hung around there all the time. They stayed there and went inside and out and never went anywhere else in the house. One day they just all went outside and never came back in. I didn’t have to kill a single ant. Just let them do what they want on a small area of the counter. I never recommend spraying pesticides outside for ants. If you have stinging ants, there are baits available, but most ants are beneficial.

Ants weren’t put on this planet just to annoy us. They have been incredibly industrious for millions of years. Their productiveness nourishes the animals, plants and ecosystem. As part of their daily activity, ants safely and effectively grow and harvest their own food, construct homes, farms, dumps, cemeteries, living quarters, and food storage facilities from materials that can truly be recycled. They create medicines and disinfectants that are healthy, safe and biodegradable and they maintain the health of the soil for the entire planet.

About askthebugman

I have been in the pest management industry for over 40 years. In that time I have used almost every pesticide available to control so-called “pests”. With this experience, I have learned over the years that the pesticides we use are far more dangerous than the pests we are trying to control. As a result, it has become a passion for me to improve the quality of life for humans and the planet, by assisting people to not only become more educated and aware of their environment – but also by learning to manage their home and business with a sustainable and healthier approach to tending to unwanted infestations of bugs. Please enjoy my blog posts, check out my publications, utilize my services, or simply stay in touch if you have a bug question…
