There are issues you should be aware of about pesticide applications. When mosquito spraying is completed, many other insects along with mosquitoes are killed, and this includes beneficial insects such as bees. Other animals including birds in nests are also killed. The pesticide company doing the spraying will say, so what, nobody will notice any other dead insects or birds and we did kill a few mosquitoes. How do I know this? I worked for pest control companies in the past, and this is what we were told to say.
When they spray pesticides around your home, they will also kill beneficial insects and some birds and they use the same logic, that nobody will notice. When they spray pesticides on a regular basis in your house, you can develop serious health issues. It may take a few years to develop, and the pest industry will say that there won’t be any evidence their pesticides caused anything. They know the hazards of the pesticides, but they don’t want you to know. They will frequently say their pesticides are safe and made from chrysanthemums, which is nonsense. Pesticides made from chrysanthemums have other inert ingredients in them that are not safe.
Companies that use Roundup in public parks and other areas frequently kill a lot of lizards as the glyphosate in the herbicide will cause lizards to dehydrate. When I mentioned this to one company, they said, so what, nobody will see any dead lizards.
When rodenticides are used, other animals can sometimes come in contact with them and will die. Again, so what, as nobody will notice. This is how many pest companies function.
One company even told a woman that their pesticides would kill any coronavirus germs in her house. I was shocked. I have heard some stupid statements in the past, but the exterminator that said that is beyond stupid. I suggested she cancel his service immediately, which she said she would do. There are certainly some honest and good pest control companies, but they are far fewer than the ones described above. Never let them spray pesticides in your house to “prevent” pests. It is not necessary. There are plenty of ways of controlling ALL pests without the use of pesticides except in very rare cases. Check with any public places you go or use such as day care centers, churches, retail operations and all government buildings at every level and request that they do NOT use any pesticides in their buildings.
